In this chapter, we learn that the main character, Master Su, is a student at the University of Pennsylvania. He is interested in studying medicine, but he also wants to study spell-casting and weapon-repair. He wants to become a weapons designer, and he wants to be able to cast spells and repair weapons. Master Su's mentor, Professor Lin, is also interested in the subject. He tells Master Su that he will teach Master Su himself, since Master Su has already passed the entrance exam for a master's degree in this field. In the meantime, the other students at the university have been talking trash about Master Su. They've been talking about how Master Su is the best student in the world, and that he's the only one who can beat him in his own class. The other students are all trash talking, and Master Su doesn't want to be one of them. He's not going to start a boss team, he says. At night, he gets an e-mail from Lin saying that he can't beat Master Su in his class. He asks how many promotional messages Lin has sent him, and when Lin tells him that he hasn't received any, he tells Lin to hang up. Lin is annoyed that he has been getting so many calls, and the tea merchants have been adding him to their chat list. He says that he was so annoyed because he mistook Lin for an advertisement. Lin says that Lin has been trying to find a way to cultivate his foundation, but that it's too fast for him.
