Demian is on his way back to the manor, and he's going to kill anyone who tries to stop him. He's headed to a lake about three miles away from the manor. Demian's dead, says Sarah, and the druids are going to stop attacking them anytime soon. But, she says, she has to go to her sister's house, where she can find someone to take care of her now that she's gone. She says she'll be back soon, but first she needs to find someone who needs her. She reminds herself that she was right about the cure, and that if she hadn't listened to her, the poor children would be dead long ago. She's a monster, and she can't trust anyone again. She tells Sarah to take her to the reservation where she was born, and then to New York, where more scientists are looking for a cure for vampirism.
