This chapter's epigraph comes from a line in the play's first chapter, in which a young girl named Sarah says that she has come to stay with Dracula's family in order to cure him of his vampirism. The young girl, who has been orphaned by her father, tells the rest of the family that she will be returning to Transylvania to cure Dracula.
