Carla tells Ani that the more he sees, the worse things are for him. Ani tells him to stay away from her, since she's trying to incite a race war. She also tells him that since he destroyed the group's rides, they've got an informer here who's taking theirs. Carla wonders where Ani is, and Ani tells her to believe that she took off on her own to try to spy on the patriot europa front. Ani says that she wanted to know what was wrong, and part of her wants it to be wrong, but she wishes it wasn't. She asks where he's going, and he tells her that it's spring break, and that he didn't even know he'd be there. She tells him not to start, because she'll be back soon, and she says she doesn't know how lucky he is to be back. He says that he almost killed two other people the night before, so he came home to try and help others. Ani thinks that maybe he should follow the lead of the patriots and not have a gun.
