Mr. Lee takes the young man back to his apartment, where he tells him a funny story about his brother's death in a car accident. The young man realizes that his brother would never have died if he had not been in such a state of shock. He thinks about how he would have liked to have been living until then, when he would be standing in a crowded subway station.
