About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that it's illegal to break into someone's house without permission, and that the two of them will have to shout open sesame to get into the house. When they get there, they'll be able to "shout open sesame" and enter the house, which will be a lot more fun. The narrator is glad that his nephew isn't sulking today, because he's going to have to deal with the awkwardness of being alone with his uncle. He asks if there's anything in common between the two men, and if they have anything to do with each other's bad behavior. The two men are both awkward, but they're usually better at it than the other way around, the narrator tells us. He also asks if they think that the other man is in a good mood today, and whether or not he was "a little pissed off" the night before. The men don't seem to have much in common, though, and the narrator asks if the men have anything else in common besides bad mouthing him. He tells the men that his uncle is looking for him, and he wants to teach him some coffee-making techniques. He wants to know if the man is free this afternoon, or if he'd like to check out a nearby pet supply store after class. If he doesn't, he can give him the address, and then he can go with him to the store. He says that the weather is nice today, so people should stay indoors. He's sure that the man won't be interested in talking to him again, but the narrator is sure that he'll never want
