About This Chapter
The narrator wakes up drunk and tells us that he's having a dream. He's not sure what's going on, but he assumes it's his nephew, who's been having a bad night. The narrator tells the kids to get out of the house, and they do. He tells them that he called on them last night but they didn't come home, so he had to come right away. He also tells them about the movie they watched the night before, and then he tells them what happened. He says that he tried to call on them, but they both stayed up and watched the same movie. He asks if they're going to eat breakfast with him, and when they don't, he says he'll pay for it. He goes on to tell the kids that he doesn't like them anymore, and that they'll have to rely on each other if they want to be friends. He then tells them he has to tell them that they are bullying him, unless they come to school with him. He adds that if they continue to skip school, he won't stay in school, and he will drop out. He wants to help his father in his job, and if he can't convince his nephew to go back to school, then he'd have to drop out himself. He admits that he thought he would be scolded for skipping school, but now that he knows, he can do nothing to stop him from coming to school. He knows that he wouldn't have been
