The scene opens with Soomi's father, Minola, taking her out for a walk. Minola tries to flirt with her, but she's not having it. She's worried that Minola doesn't like her, and that's why he's flirting with her. Soomi tries to get her to tell her father what's up, but he won't listen. He's so drunk that she can't open her mouth and swallow the bean sprouts that are stuck in her throat.
