The scene opens with a description of the "virgin wet" face of a young assistant. The assistant is working on a new poster for a client, and the boss is furious that he has not completed the project. He asks the assistant if he can check on the progress of the project, but the assistant says that he is too busy to do so. He tells the boss that he wants to learn more, so that he can be a "big award" as well as a "helper" in the future. The boss asks if the assistant has been eating dinner, and she says that she was eating dinner when a plaint came in through the window. She asks the boss if she can change the deadline, but he says that it is too late. He gives her a "grope" to massage her tired body.
