About This Chapter
In this short scene, the city lord tells the lieutenant that he is just missing his own people. He asks if the lieutenant understands him, and the lieutenant replies that he does not. The city lord then asks the lieutenant who the spy is. The lieutenant answers that the answer is in the poem, and that the person he is alluding to is "feng cang". The lieutenant then asks if this is the man who was alluding in the previous poem to the person who was "feng cang" . He wonders if the spy could have planned this in order to "claim credit" for the two traitors. He then wonders why the highness lord didn't hide the poem to make liefeng look like a traitor. He concludes that the poem is nothing more than a metaphor for the past six years. The mountain village offers tribute to its tombstone, and a solitary traveler accidentally picks up the boat. The snow and winds have passed six years and the dead have been sold to the brothel. The dagon finally understands why kongming asked him to look for the spy. He realizes that after he was recovered from the "coldest place" , he also has "something" of that person.
