In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in the previous chapters. The first person to appear in this chapter is the narrator of the previous chapter. The narrator tells us that he is sorry that he cannot present this document at the meeting. He says that he will start over and forget it. He asks the narrator to tell him about the fight that took place the night before. He tells the narrator that it was scary and that he was afraid that he would get into a fight with his friend. He then tells the story of how he broke his rent and loan in order to get the money he needed to buy a fancy gym and spa for himself and his family. He complains that he forgot to call the police because he was about to go out with some other people. He wants to know what was going on with the other people and asks if the police are there. He is told that they are and that it is okay. He goes on to say that he wants to continue what he did that night and asks for a chance to do so again. He promises that if he does well, he will give him another chance. If he does not, he promises to give him a thousand dollars.
