The young man is very excited to meet his friend, and we learn that he has just come back from an extended trip in the Middle East. We are also told that this is the first time that this young man has been away from home since he was a child. The narrator also tells us that the boy is very happy to see his friend and that he feels very safe and secure in his new home.
