In this short scene, the two lovers meet in the middle of the night. The lovers are both exhausted from their day's work, and they are worried about each other's health. They decide to go back to their rooms to rest, but the lovers are not sure how to go about it. They try to talk each other out of going back to bed, but they cannot. They are afraid that the other man is too heavy to go to sleep, and so they decide to let him go. They argue about whether or not they should go to bed first, and the lovers decide that they will go first, since they like each other so much.
