In this chapter, we learn that the ship is under attack from the flying Dutchman. The captain is glad to see that he is alive. He tells the others that the battle has already been lost. He says that he would rather stay with his crew than take part in the battle. He also tells them that William will be coming for them, just as he said he would be. He adds that he has become a member of the crew of the ship, and that no one will come for his father like him. He asks the captain to lead the ship to the shipwreck cove so that he can gain the trust of the captain. He then tells the captain that he will kill him if he does not do so.
