About This Chapter
In the middle of the night, Jack and the sparrow are stranded on a deserted island. Jack is afraid that he will be killed again, and he asks why he didn't say something to Elizabeth when he saw that she was in danger. He feels a chill in his heart because he thought he would be able to help her, but he doesn't know what to do. Elizabeth's father comes out of his hiding place, and Jack asks him if he is dead. He says he is. Elizabeth begs him not to go, but Jack says he must go to give his love to his mother. They can't find a way to get back to the ship, because the sun is setting, and there is no wind or water. Jack tries to get the boat to go to the edge of the island, but the wind is back, and they need help. They need fresh water, so they go back to shooting at each other. Jack wants to kill the kraken, but it is too late. He asks if they can join forces with the empress, and she says they must. Jack asks why they haven't told him about the plan to free his father. Elizabeth wants to free her father, and Barbossa wants the court to summon it. Jack says that he is standing with them, and that there is a friend who will visit him first.
