In this chapter, we learn that Euan is at a wine party hosted by the "Queen of Wine" . The wine is called "pearl wine" because it is made of pearl, a substance that is believed to cure diseases and heal wounds. When Euan tries to drink the wine, he discovers that the bubbles in the wine are different from those in the pearl wine. Euan tells the girl that he is not at the wine party, but he is glad to see her again. He tells her that she is a "miraculous girl" and that she will get better soon. The girl tells him that the king is in the cloud, but she wonders why he looks so wired
