In this chapter, we learn that the real killer of the finger has died, but that the copycats have continued to murder and "pretend to be ghosts" . Sometimes, two or three copycats are killed at once, and sometimes, three or four copycats at once. The lieutenant tells the other members of the team that they need to catch the finger killer who hasn't yet been caught. He tells them to hurry up and get the killer. He also tells them that they're cops and that they don't "kill criminals" , but "catch them" and "bring them to justice" through the law.
