The demon asks why the beast stopped feeling ill after he bit him. He says that he's just a tool for the beast, and if the beast doesn't tell him, he'll bite him the next time he bites him. The demon says that they're going to chop down all the trees in the valley and burn them with the fire of Samadhi, and they'll follow the branches wherever they go. He asks where the seed is, and he says that it seems to have merged with him and he can't get it out. He's afraid that the general will arrive soon, so he needs to get the seed out of the way ASAP. The sword is useful, he says, because it cuts through all the demons. He wants to find out where the spirit is coming from, because he feels like all his organs are "churned together" by the blood of his soul. He wonders why he hasn't matured yet, because the taste of his blood seems to be full of spirit energy. He realizes that he has a human heart, and that he can use it to use it.
