This chapter opens with a soliloquy by a military strategist. He accuses the general of being a "mom" who keeps "trifling and messing in" other people's business. This is a reference to the fact that the general is a war prisoner and has been held captive by the general. The general is not a criminal, he says, but a "pet peeve" of the emperor to take in criminals without asking for permission first. He says that jiang li has figured out the identity of kun wu and has shown up here today. He tells the general that if the emperor wants to kill the wolf, he will do so. The emperor asks him where the evidence is for this, and the general says that he doesn't have it. He asks the general if he has always been thinking like this, but the general replies that he hasn't, and that killing the wolf already shows his mercy. He also says that the queen mother keeps two celestial wolf as pets. The wolf clan has been exterminated long ago, and he says that she shouldn't be thinking about the wolf. The war starts again, and this time, the general's army is victorious.
