This chapter opens with the King's speech to the people, in which he tells them that he wants the whole palace to hear his story. He wants them to come and see what a slutty man he is. He asks the King to watch more of his body, so that he can vent his anger. After further investigation, he found a dancer who was good at using the whip. He bought her freedom, so he bought her the freedom. He tells the King that he has always been good at torturing girls, and that the beautiful dancer used the whipping to spice up things. The King tells the audience that he is dissatisfied with his plays, because they do not satisfy him. He has to find a way not to let Gui yan torture him, he has to be offensive. He says that he took revenge on Gui by humiliating him once, and the King agreed to let him do anything with the condition that Gui should not torture him.
