About This Chapter
The emperor tells the monk that he will punish him for speaking ill of him behind his back. The monk is shocked, and the emperor tells him that whatever he does is a crime. The emperor then tells him about the past. It is said that Guiyan once was the heir to the throne of the Ming dynasty, and he gained military honors that made him the "god of war." The emperor from the Ming family was jealous of Guiyan's military achievements, and therefore wanted to seize his military authority. Guiyan was furious, and started a rebellion, making a bloody bloodbath of all the members of the previous Ming family except the prince rongling, who was the only remaining member of the old royal family. After the emperor's explanation, the monk is relieved that he cares so much about him. He tells the emperor that one's "true intention" will be seen in the future. He then asks the monk if he is not going to Ming with him, but the monk replies that he is. He thanks the monk for saving his life, but he still needs to take his revenge. He says that his old friend gave him a magic elixir, which he needs to use to take revenge on Guiyan
