The general says that it's too dangerous for them to do so, since the people from the camp might think that they're a threat. He suggests that they bring some men to the camp and ask them to reconnoiter. When the general finally shows up, he's all, "Hey, who are you?" and "Who are you? It's me!" and "I'm so embarrassed that I have to dress like this to save my master!" and so on and so forth. The young master is totally confused by the whole thing.
