The star attraction wakes up early in the morning to work at the restaurant. She enjoys her breakfast with the owner, who introduces her to the new menu items. The owner tells her that the restaurant is half a boarding house and half a restaurant. The boarding house has four residents, all men. One is a painter, one a skinny painter, and one a delivery man. One gets up late at night. The other looks like someone has been sleeping in again. She asks the owner if he can clean her room, but the owner says he was out late the night before, so he'll do it. He tells her she can have whatever she wants, but she can't have a personal relationship with him. She's allowed to go to the market, meet her friends, or go shopping. She can have what she wants at lunch, but it's not allowed to be a secret meeting. After lunch, she's free to go shopping or meet friends. She doesn't need to worry about these things. She just needs to get what she was sent for, and make her way back without a hitch. After the star attraction leaves, the owner gives her the night shift. She eats dinner in the kitchen and then goes to bed. She gets to use the private bath that the owner gave her. He says she'll have to pay for both of her jobs, but he won't ask her for more work if she wants to. He promises to see her again tomorrow.
