About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to the past 30 years. It's now the end of the chapter, and it's the last chapter of the book. The narrator tells us that this is the second part of a three-part story. The first part was about a guy named Nemo who was born with a disease called cagaster, which turns people into bugs. The second part is about Nemo's father. He's been working hard for the past ten years to get Nemo to serve in the army. Now that he's old enough to be his own father, he wants his daughter to be a part of the army as well. He doesn't want her to be the one to die. He wants her to serve as his daughter's lieutenant. This is the last time he'll ever lead the army, he says. He tells the narrator to listen up, because this is his last mission as a leader. He says that he knows that Nemo is dead, but he still believes that he would do anything for the sake of his son's life. He also says that the army has surrounded the town of Azuria, where the mayor of the town is speaking. The mayor is talking about how the army needs to find out what happened to the city of E- 07, and he wants to kill the army's leader, Harb adham, who's suspected of being a traitor. The captain says that they're going to take on Harb's forces, and liberate the town. He adds that he still thinks that Harb would do whatever it took to get rid of the city. The commander of the east-coast coalition army says that it looks like Harb and his men fought just to fight off the residents of Azerbaia. They're surrounded, and there's nothing to be done. The only thing that's left to do is to kill Harb, who is being accused of treason. Nemo says that this will be the last mission he will ever lead. He wonders if his body would become an insect if he turned into an insect. He knows that his father wanted him to be what he wanted, but that he didn't have the right to do so. He can't be a shepherd who believes in God, and a heartless sword. He couldn't stay a man who believed in the god of the universe. He could only be an excuse for killing other humans, but it always was a human body
