The narrator arrives at the men's club to find a table set up for him and his friends. He's not sure what to make of it, but he's glad to see that it's a "table for how many" . He doesn't know if the men are really friends or if they just want to hang out. The narrator is excited to see Kahuru again, but is also depressed because he hasn't seen him in a long time.
