This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the school's lieutenant, who is disguised as a high school student. He tells us that he and the captain of the school, Yelang, have formulated a plan to defeat the enemy. He says that he is a pacifist, and that he will not fight if he can't solve problems with his brain. He wonders why they should only injure the enemy when they could kill him. He has fought against the enemy many times, and still has a strong power. He is amazed at the plan, and wonders if it means that the enemy is in danger. Yelang explains that due to his carelessness, they fell into the enemy's trap.
