The next morning, xi wakes up. He's at the hospital, where he and zhouhua were attacked the night before. The narrator tells xi that passersby saw what happened, called the police, and xi and hua were saved by xi's strength. xi tells the narrator that since then, their bodies have gradually returned to normal. He tells jiang that he made a fuss on the subway the day before, and that auntie is begging xi to give up his seat. jiang says that xi is sitting in the "heart marked seat" , which means that he's not very good with manners. He says that when he gets out of the subway car, he saw xi through the window and the person scolding him was xi. He thinks that it's possible that jiang saw it wrong, but xi still doesn't understand what's going on
