About This Chapter
Book 2 opens with a soliloquy by Frank. He tells the audience that he's not sure how he managed to steal the car from his men. He's a little worried that they're going to kill him and lynn. He also tells them that they should stay where they are, because he'll tear them apart. He asks them to stay behind him and behind lynn, so that he can kill them both. He then asks them if they want to stay in front of him or behind each other. They both agree to do so. Frank then asks the two of them what they think of the car, and they both agree that it looks like it's been stolen. They also agree that they don't have any idea what's going on. Frank says that the guy who stole the car is a friend of theirs, and that's why he started following them when they left the town of Wales for the city of Akron. He says that everything they heard about Akron was true, and therefore, the lives of the dead are constantly changing. Frank also asks if they would have chosen him if they hadn't chosen him. They agree that he would have gone puke if he had chosen them. He goes on to say that he still loves them both, and now that alan is a zombie, he can't wait to see them together. They talk about how they've both learned a lot from death, and he says that sometimes he thinks about it more than from life. He mentions that he was in Wales a year ago and was killed in a diner. They locked him in a walk-in freezer. They told him they might need some more parts, and Frank says he needs some sleep.
