In this chapter, we learn that Pitt's money was traced to him and Peter Wilks, and that it was used to pay for the capture of the three monkeys. Pitt tells us that he and Admiral Canaris have known each other for many years, and they once offered to help the British against the Americans. Pitt wanted to use the money to prepare the field so that the British would not have to fight in the field. He also wanted to buy the support of the Americans so that he could execute the Americans and pay the girls. Pitt says that he has to clean up all the mess before he can pay off the girls, and he asks that half of the men come with him. He tells them to meet him at the theater where they used to meet. He says that the place is deserted since then, and it is a good hiding spot for lester, trask, and brody, when he came in and killed them. Pitt reminds them that they are not human beings, but that if something goes wrong, he will kill them if he sees them.
