The next morning, the three of them go to the front lines to find out what's going on. They find out that Maria is on her way to meet up with her brother, who's on the other side of the city. They're both glad to see each other, but Maria is worried that her mother is dying. She's ready to help, but she's also worried that the men are going to kill her. She tells them to shut up, but they won't listen to her. They decide to film a series of tests to see how well they're doing. They plan to send soldiers into the open, hoping that they'll hold onto their positions for a while, and then send them back into the city to await the attack. They also plan to test Maria's ability to control ten soldiers at once.
