About This Chapter
In the tavern, Agamemnon confesses that he is looking for his brother. He and his sister have shared a dream in which they are different from the other peoples of the pact. The pact was fatal: all the people of the kingdom must dedicate themselves to the war against the Netherworld. Each dragon was to breed a half-breed with a mate of the peoples. A captain was to lead the dragons into darkness. Adam and her sister are surprised to find that the captain has arrested them. They are afraid that the prophecy will not come true and that the war will return to the kingdom. A gamemnon tells his sister that he will not be able to arrest her until the captain brings her a black tear. The captain apologizes and says that he did not expect to see her or anyone this early in the morning. He promises to spare her life if she will promise not to betray him. He tells her that his hand will grow back if she does not pledge it. She is the reason he has come to her.
