In this chapter, Roxane's son tells her that his father loves him and that he has not eaten either of them. She tells him that her brother and sister-in-law killed Roxane for power, and that they left her only a "slight portion" of her tail. She says that she will never return empty handed, and she reminds him that he was the captain who allowed the thief to run away. He says that he showed them the dagger that soukou used to kill her, and they will learn more about her in the future.
