The narrator is in the middle of a conversation with a police officer when he hears a strange car driving by. He realizes that it's Raymer's old friend's car, and he realizes that he has dropped him off a year ago. The rain is getting worse, and the police and hitmen are working together. He's shocked to see that they're all working together, but he's also relieved that he doesn't have to deal with the bullet holes in the car. He feels like he has to vomit to get through the scene.
