About This Chapter
It's raining outside, and the birds are shooting at them. They're waiting for the air taxi, which is waiting for them. The birds are trying to shoot at them, but they don't have the nerve to shoot back. They just want to get out of there. They need to tell diktor what's going on, and he needs to tell them what the machine is doing. He's totally confused. He doesn't know who it is, but he's sure that it's the queen's dream machine. The queen can't sleep because of her crimes, he says, and no one dares to go into the dream chamber. He knows that the queen has selected her own dreams, so he'll just set the machine to random, and follow her. This is the first time he has ever been in a dream chamber, and now he wants to kill himself. He wants to go back to the king and tell him what he wants. The king can do whatever he wants with the machine. He just needs to make sure that the machine isn't being used to kill him. He also needs to know that the king has the power to do anything he wants, because the machine has no controls. He tells the king to hurry up and get the guards out of the way. The guards are deaf and blind, and they're not going to let him do anything that'll make him regret it later. He says that the wall is coming down, and that the stones are coming back up. He asks the guards to climb up the wall, but the guards have stopped the attack by the black guards. He wonders if the sharks have come to give them a hand, and then he asks the king if he can use his influence with the prisoners to get them to help him regain the throne. He thinks that the birds look like submarines on the top of the tower, and it makes him crazy just to think of it.
