About This Chapter
The next day, the professor invites the student to come back with him during the winter break. He tells the student that he won't force her to come with him, but that he'll let her think about it and decide if she wants to come. The student is thrilled to hear that he was once an egg and a tomato lover. He's even more thrilled when he learns that he once cut all ties with his family because he was upset about something. He doesn't want anyone to know about it, though, because he's afraid that his fan group will kill him if they hear about it. The professor then asks the student why he hasn't been wearing piercings lately, and the student explains that his dad made him take them off and throw them out when he went home. He also explains that when he got to college, he saw everyone wearing their own style of clothing, and he wanted to do the same for himself. He gives the student a candy for his birthday, but this time, instead of giving it to him as a gift, he gives it as a present. The students celebrate their birthdays in the dorms and then have another one in the summer. The final exams are coming up, so the student is ready to go back to school.
