About This Chapter
Once December arrives, the weather starts to get really cold. The narrator tells us that he didn't realize that winter would be so cold in China. He's glad that there are indoor heaters, because it's going to get even colder when it snows. He tells the narrator to put on his new parka, which he bought for a ridiculously low price. He also tells him that qiujin Xu gave him the jacket because he's not wearing it anymore, and that's why the narrator is so grateful. He asks the narrator why he is so kind to him, and the narrator doesn't know. He just wants to know what the heck he thinks of him. He says that his mother is a Christian, so Christmas was important to her. When he was a kid, he used to go to church with his family, put up a tree, and buy presents for Santa Claus. He used to think that Santa Claus hated him, or that he wasn't "a good kid" . But when he grew up, he realizes that there is no such thing as a bad kid in the world. He wants to be with Santa.
