The narrator introduces us to Yondu, a young woman who is walking her dog. Yondu's dog, Nemo, has run away, and she's worried that he's gone into the woods. The narrator tells Yondu that Nemo's not a dog, but a "pedigree certificate" , and that she should have a detector to find him. She's also worried that Nemo is trying to say something to her, but Yondu can't figure out what it is. She asks the narrator to use the translator, which he does, and Yondu says that she'll take the dog for a walk each day.
