One day, the narrator and his friend, Nemo, are on vacation in the Hawaiian island of Oahu. The narrator wishes he could go to the beach and play in the snow, but he knows it's too hot to do so. He decides to use a Japanese heating device to cool down his body by making a bubble-like substance out of the food he's about to eat: a steak. He's not a fan of rock-hard steak, but the steak is tasty nonetheless. He makes a "shaved ice" machine out of a piece of frozen sand and then uses it to make a "snow machine" out of it. The ice machine breaks, and the narrator is left with nothing but a broken stitch.
