Back at the jade shop, Lin asks if he can borrow money to buy the red agate that he wants. Lin tells him that it's for "life-saving" , but that he has to bet on the price of the stone to win. Lin wants to know how much the stone is worth now that he's got it. He asks if either of them will give him an answer, but they won't. Lin says that it was partly his fault to cut the stone the way it is, so he'll buy it from them.
