About This Chapter
In this second chapter, we are introduced to the "rogue samurai" , a group of three warriors who have come to kill a bastard and his sister. The group is led by Misaki, and they are joined by two other men. Misaki tells the other men that he is going to kill the bastard because he is the one who cut off the sister's nose. He tells them that they are the ones who cut the nose off because they stand in the way of the other two men. The other men, however, do not believe him. They do not realize that he has cut off his own nose, and he is not even in the town. He asks them if they would like to stay and help him, but they do not know what to do. He says that he knows they are starving, but he does not know if they are hungry or not. He also says that they must have saved him, because he knew they would be there. He then tells the men that the man they are about to kill must have killed several men at once, and that he must have been on guard at all times. He adds that he will throw the man off guard when he is washing himself, and then he will steal the man's katana. He wonders if his father is doing well, and wonders if he should bring his son, tagosaku, to the town of Irukano. The men decide to go for a bath together, and Misaki asks him if he would like them to go with him. He answers that he would rather go bashful than go to the bath with them. He warns Misaki that his three men will arrive at any moment, and asks if they really do not care if the men come. He does not want to be bashful
