The chapter opens with Caixia's mother, Lin, asking her son why he hasn't contacted her for a year and why he's consulted a psychiatrist. Lin tells her that her son is on a "fiery fierce fierce" mental illness and that she should pack up and go back to her family. Lin says that he hopes there's nothing wrong with her son and that he'll get him a new one. Lin then tells Caixia that she can't change friends as she wishes. He says that his actions and words back then were not natural, and that the atmosphere was awkward. He then asks Caixia where she went while skipping class. Caixia says that she went to the fitness club while she was skipping class and that Lin brought the senior there to look for her. Lin scolds her for being so nice to the senior and says that Caixia should think about what other people think of him now.
