About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph comes from a quote from the Bible, which says, "The blood of the dead belongs to the living, and the living to the dead" . It's important to note that the Bible doesn't say anything about sharing blood, but it does say that the living must share their blood with the dead. If the dead are the ones who killed their compatriots, then it's their fault that they were killed, and they owe their lives to save the lives of the living. So why should they risk their lives for the sake of saving a person they don't even know? They've lived for so long in fear that they'll be discovered by the gods, so they've always been afraid of being discovered. They'll repay the gods for saving their lives, but they shouldn't risk their own lives for someone who's not worth saving. They should think about what would happen if they didn't save Miss kay, because she's going to be hunted down by the god who killed her. If she recovers, then the god will be hunting them down for not saving her. They can join forces to rid the earth of the evil spirits, and then they can rid the world of the gods once and for all.
