In this short scene, we meet Princess Su's new friend, the Duke of Mantua. The Duke asks the princess if she would like to dance with him, and the princess replies that she would. The duke asks her if she remembers him from the royal palace, and she says that she does, but that he saved her from crying. He asks her to dance a song, and then he asks her what she remembers about him. The princess says that the song changed, and that she will see the duke later. She asks the duke if she should go back to her room and rest, but the duke says that he will only go and pretend to put his hand on her waist. He then asks her why she would want to go and see the Duke off herself, when he is already gone. She says that when she wants to see him, she will go and meet him.
