Back at the hospital, the doctor tells the superintendent that the patient has lost a lot of blood, but he's got a special blood type that doesn't let him get too much blood. The doctor asks the superintendent if there's anything he can do to save the patient, but the superintendent says he can't, because the patient is so close to death. The superintendent says they've already exhausted all the blood in the hospital's system, so they'll have to do something drastic to save him. He asks the doctor if he has any friends and relatives who might be able to help, and the doctor says he does. He's going to ask the doctor to accompany him to the hospital for one night.
