In this chapter, we are introduced to Mr. Lin and his assistant, Mr. Sands, who are waiting for Mr. Lingzi to arrive at the party. They have been invited to the party by Mr. Lanzi, and they are looking for a new suit to wear to the shindig. They decide to go for the more expensive suit, which Mr. Shallow admits is too plain for the young man, but he is determined to wear it anyway.
