In this chapter, we learn that the father and uncle of the young man are concerned about the boy's relationship with his new boyfriend. They want him to make a decision about whether or not to return to the city. The uncle tells the boy that he will accompany him to the doctor's office in the afternoon for the child's check-up. He then invites the boy to go horseback riding the next day.
