It's been a while since we've seen Lin, but she's back in her room. She's having a good time remembering her old life, and she wants to know where daphne is hiding. She tells him to stop hiding, because she messed up Lin's original destiny, and neither of them had a good ending. The person Lin is waiting for isn't you, she says, and they're fated only to cross paths. She gives him another glass of wine, and he gives her another glass. He tells her to know that he and Lin are not destined for each other, and that they'll only cross paths if they want to live happily ever after. He also tells her that he's heard a lot about her from his brother. He asks her if she'd like to wipe off her sweat with a handkerchief. She says she'll do it, and then they go off to start the next scene.
