Rinehart's dog, Bob, refuses to be killed because he cannot find a specific kind of rabies vaccine in the city. He asks where he can find a public phone number to call for the vaccine, and he is told that there are three public phone numbers in the whole of New York City. He is also told that if he does not find the vaccine within three days, he will have to return to being a "crazies" .
