In this short scene, Rinehart's protagonist, Alek, tells his story to his friend elias. Alek has a strange dream in which he sees a girl and wonders if she is alive or not. He also learns that his fiance, Marek, has given him a dress and told him that he can find his answers in the dress. He wonders if this girl is the queen of the undead, or if she's just a random girl. Alek then asks if the central building in London is safe from the undead. Marek tells him that it is, but that they'll have to break through the walls of the building to get there. Alek asks if he can contact Marek again, and he gets a message from him saying that he's going to die. He asks if this is the last time he'll see him, and then he curses Marek for not knowing the reason for his suicide.
