About This Chapter
In this short scene, Dr. Bledsoe tells the audience that he and his men are going on a big tour of the human world. He tells them that they are going to kill all the humans in the kingdom. He also tells them to bring their own weapons with them. He says that humans are shy and should not be hurt. He compares them to cockroaches, who do not even need to be hurt because they are so weak. He then goes on to say that humans scream when they think they are ugly because they do not want to hurt them. This is why they are in the prison, he says. He asks the king why he is not getting better. The king says that he is dying, but he still wants to hold on to the throne. He wants to speak to his son alone. He has found a doctor who will cure him, but the doctor refuses to go to the king's house, so they will have to go there themselves. The father says that his son is already dead, and that he will not let him die in exchange for his son's hand in the throne
